The book includes two historical works by Radlova, presented with contemporary critical commentary. "Our Lady Ship" and "The Story of Tatarinova" are attempts to reconstruct the historical fabric in all the variety of its political, mystic, and erotic threads. Continuing similar attempts by Merezhkovskii, Belii, and Kuzmin, Radlova’s quasi-historical works embody interest in the secrets of the Russian sectarianism that was characteristic of the Silver Age.
